If I am allowing a personal device to connect to my environment, how do I know that device is secure? The only way to have any level of assurance to that fact is to install remote monitoring agents, inspect the configuration of the system, and restrict administrative permissions so the end-user (or an attacker who hijacks the end user's access) cannot mess with things in such a way as to compromise the already shaky ground the integrity of that system stands upon. There is also the matter of endpoint protection to consider. I am also guessing that for every user like yourself who would gladly use a company provided device to keep their personal and work computing separate, there is a corresponding user who absolutely will not tolerate being forced to use an additional corporate machine and will complain until blue in the face about it. On one hand, you want the freedom to work however you like, but on the other hand the company has real requirements and limitations imposed on them that necessitate dictating how end users compute. I am in charge of IT security for my company and in my experience users like you get put in a tough place. No, that is not "reasonable" and for that my honest middle finger.

Nobody really cared for the fact that my all machines are running Linux, they just have assumed that I must have some kind of PC and that that PC is running either Windows or Linux. What I think is not reasonable is meddling in my own machine which I treated as my own until one day my employer said "Sorry, from now your private PC is ours to audit because we are not willing to spend equivalent of two days of your income to provide a machine for you to securely, conveniently and reasonably access our system". If employer is really interested in achieving some measure of security, there would have to be separate computer configured and locked to only allow it to be used for work. I think troubleshooting sux and would prefer to just nuke the thing and be done with it.The issue is this practice does not achieve anything and only achieves to annoy me as a person who must navigate unnecessary complexity of trying to do honest work. At least that's my impression from responses to my mentioning it.Įvery time I mention such a thing there's a rainfall of posts making it sound like I should be burned at the stake for not just troubleshooting.

You're referring to the reformat/reinstall? Is this often useful on a Mac, like the OP's? Personally, if I've got something that's actually causing some difficulties and I think it's due to junk buildup on the disk, I gravitate towards the nuclear option and just reformat the damn thing and reinstall everything At some point they used to put an installer into the folder itself. To the OP: look inside the application folder. 'fraid I just cannot remember exactly what I did as it is over 3 years ago now. I know I have uninstalled my prior Ps versions (all versions from CS5) from my Mac, and I may have used this Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool I can certainly see I dowloaded it back then: Does anyone have a way to uninstall the CC 2018 without affecting my Photoshop 2022 other than simply moving the old file folders to the trash? On the Adobe website, they recommend uninstalling from the Creative Cloud App by clicking on the three dots next to the photoshop app, scrolling down to the older version and click "uninstall." But my Creative Cloud app only shows versions as old as v.22 and CC 2018 is v.19, so there is not an Adobe uninstall option there. In Finder, I see there is an old version of Photoshop CC 2018 that I don't need any more and is taking up about 1.3GB of space.
